Berkeley's Breweries

Maybe you've been to Berkeley. Maybe you've been to Cal to soak up the student vibe, or to climb to the top of the Campanile.
Maybe you've strolled past the tie-dyed Jerry Garcia and spiked Sid Vicious look-alikes on Telegraph Avenue, heard the blues at Blake's or browsed through Cody's Books. Or maybe you hiked a trail up at Tilden Regional Park or have gone fishing out at the Berkeley Marina.
You may have done all these things and still not experienced what's really brewing in Berkeley -- brews: ales, stouts, ciders and even sake.
Berkeley is home to some of the Bay Area's finest microbreweries and home-brew suppliers. You can find them all on the Berkeley Brewery Trail Guide, a brochure that helps you navigate through the 'Napa Valley of Beer.'
Most of the locations are accessible by BART or AC Transit, so don't drink and drive. In fact, you may want to spend the night at one of Berkeley's neat old hotels, such as the Hotel Shattuck or Hotel Durant.
