Tiburon, Marin Co. - This old rail trail between Blackie's Pasture and Belvedere is a popular destination for Bay Area skaters and features excellent scenery of Richardson Bay.
Distance:
5 miles
Recommended For:
All levels
Route:
The trail begins at the far west end of the lot (its best to walk your way over the gravel to the trail). Skate up the short hill to the left of the soccer fields. Go through the Max H. Grefe Wildlife Sanctuary as the trail proceeds toward Tiburon Blvd. After crossing the two intersections (carefully), the trail divides into a pedestrian path and a bicycle path. Both head east into the Tiburon shopping area and into a traffic circle. Follow the east side along the water.
Notes:
The final section in Tiburon, is considered excellent skating. It has wonderfully smooth paths, is lit for night skating and is closed to bicycles.
Directions:
From U.S. 101 take the exit Tiburon/Mill Valley(Tiburon Blvd/Highway 131/East Blithedale Ave.) and go east on Tiburon Blvd. for just over a mile. Turn right at the sign for Blackie's Pasture Rd.
