Route:
One can start at Novato and skate to Stafford Lake or just head to the Stafford Lake Park Trail. From Novato, return to the Marin Dr. intersection and cross to the south side of Novato Blvd. continuing west as it becomes Hicks Valley Rd. The trail dips down to Novato Creek and back to Hicks Valley Rd. Be careful working your way back as the steep slope leads you into a blind intersection with oncoming cars.
Notes:
Check out the Miwok Indian Museum at the start/finish. Stafford Lake Park is a great place to rest and picnic, with restrooms and a playground.
Directions:
Off U.S. 101, take the Atherton Ave./Marin Dr. exit. Follow Marin Dr. west until your reach Novato Blvd. To get to Stafford Lake, turn right on Novato Blvd. and follow for 2.5 miles.
