Bay Area Skate Spots: Coyote Creek
Skate Spots:
Coyote Creek Parkway

South San Jose - This creekside trail is an excellent place to spot wildlife and get away from the urban bustle.

Distance:
15 miles

Recommended For:
All levels, touring.

Route:
Take the trail south alongside Coyote Creek and under the freeway until it meets Metcalf Park. Its wise to fill up on water at the picnic area and playground as this is your last chance for the rest of the route. Continue south and carefully cross the wooden slatted bridge, across Metcalf Rd and past the PG&E substation until you reach Coyote Ranch Rd. To follow the path, go left for one block and continue on Coyote Ranch Rd. to the right. Past the gate, the trail continues next to the Dog Club and eventually past the Riverside Golf Course and up to the Sycamore Rest Area. Continuing south across Riverside Dr., the trail goes over Coyote Creek and up to the Eucalyptus Rest Area.

Notes:
Depending on the time of year, one can spot a variety of birds, along with various trees and plants in blossom.

Directions:
From U.S. 101, through the southern part of San Jose, exit at Bernal Rd./Silicon Valley Blvd. and take a left. Continue east until Silicon Valley Rd. hits Coyote Creek and turn left at Eden Park Plaza. Park near the trees by the creek.
