Berkeley Marina is a popular Bay Area spot for all types of recreation. One can often see high-flying kites and joggers enjoying the beautiful surroundings and the wonderful bay views from 3 of its 4 sides. The park is filled with rolling hills, picnic benches, B-B-Q grills and water fountains.

Distance:
4 miles around Cesar E. Chavez Park

Recommended For:
Beginners, Fitness

Route:
Starting at the parking lot on the south side of the park, one can skate in either direction around the park without encountering any barriers.

Notes:
Smooth, wide and often uncrowded paths make this excellent for fitness training. To add mileage, go south on Seawall Dr. past the Berkeley Pier (where skating is not allowed) and toward SKATES restaurant.

Directions:
Off 1-80 in Berkeley take the University Ave. exit East toward the Marina. Take the first right until you run into the park at Spinnaker Way. Berkeley buses 51A and M will take you to the pier on Seawall Dr.
