Roaring Camp Railroad
Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow-Gauge Railroad's authentic late 1800's steam engines take passengers through beautiful redwood forests of Santa Cruz. Vintage passenger coaches travel through the trees, over trestles and under tunnels down the San Lorenzo River gorge. The historic RC&BTNGRR is America's last steam-powered passenger railroad with year-round passenger train service.
Tracing its heritage as far back as 1857, the RC&BTNGRR is a rare reminder of that colorful era when gold-miners, lumber-jacks, and other early pioneers chugged over the mountains of the American West aboard a narrow-gauge train in search of a new life in a new land.
Today the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow-Gauge Railroad still operates old-fashioned steam passenger train service on a daily basis providing visitors with the rare opportunity to ride back into the pages of history through some of the most beautiful and primitive scenery in the American West.
