Guide to amusement parks
in the Bay Area
Paramount's Great America
Whether you want heart-pounding thrill rides, dazzling stage shows, eye-popping
fireworks or a good cuddle with your favorite Nickelodeon characters, Paramount's
Great America has got something for you. A 100-acre facility, this amusement park
features the spectacular roller coasters Top Gun, Invertigo and Delirium as well
as the terrifying Drop Zone Stunt Tower, where you feel the rush of gravity as
you descend 22 stories in less than four seconds.
The park has added more attractions to entertain younger kids who might not be
big enough for the thrill rides. Besides the pint-sized rides of KidZville and
the fun zone of Nickelodeon Central, where kids can frolic with their favorite
cartoon characters SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and the Rugrats.
In 2004, the park opens Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay, a huge water park with
11 slides and a water-powered fun house.
