Established in the mid-1970's, the Wings of Rogallo hang gliding club has served Bay Area pilots with distnction. WOR manages three of the most popular local gliding sites: Ed Levin Park, Mt. Diablo, and Misson Peak. The club also provides weather forecasts, holds meetings, plans events, and publishes a newsletter.

MCHGA runs the hang gliding operation on the west side of Mt. Tamalpias up in Marin County. There are three premier launch sites on the mountain at an altitude of roughly 2,000 feet. The MCHGA Web site has a wealth of links to other pages with local weather, wind conditions, and tides. The club also puts out a news letter.

Bay Area Paragliding Association (BAPA)

BAPA is yet another local association of paragliding fiends. Anyone interested in getting into the sport can crash their meetings at the Round Table Pizza in Pacifica on Oceana Dr. at Manor. They assemble on the first Wednesday of every month at 8:00pm (7:00pm if it's NOT daylight savings time).

The folks from Sonoma Wings also hold their meetings at Round Table Pizza. What is it about gliders and Round Table, anyway? Maybe these guys will tell you. They meet on the third Monday of every month at 7:00pm. The joint is at Hwy 12 and Stony Point Rd. in Santa Rosa. The Sonoma Wings hang gliding Club also puts out a newsletter, and runs a right pretty Web site.
