Bike China Camp

Only about 1,500 acres of hills, marshes, and wetlands comprise this park that hugs the San Pablo Bay. But don't let the size fool you. China Camp has quite a spread of natural habitats. Salt marshes, open meadows, and expansive oak groves are all within the park's boundaries, and all are easily accesible.

For a bit of local history, check out the remnants of the turn-of-the-century fishing village. Ascend to the park's highest point via the Bay View trail to the Ridge Fire Trail: that's where Mount Diablo, Mount St. Helena, Angel Island and San Francisco all come into view.

China Camp is also a stomping ground for mountain bikers hunting the singletrack they can't get on Mt. Tam anymore. China camp is full of it -- all 1,000% legal.

Getting there
Take 101 north to San Rafael. From the north San Pedro exit, go east on North San Pedro Rd. and continue for five miles to China Camp Village.
