Elevation Gain/Loss: 1700 ft.

Riding Time: 1 - 1½ Hours
Directions

Description
This is a nice ride in Tennessee Valley in the Marin Headlands of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It starts off with a nice 2-mile warm up on the pavement and climbs a couple of hundred feet. From there it is fireroad to the top of the first peak, and then down. On the way down, a very beautiful valley appears on the right. The climb up, steeper this time, is also on a fireroad. The final descent is on singletrack. You then relax while flying down the paved road back to the trailhead. This is a really fun ride for intermediate riders who have legs for climbing.

Directions
From Highway 101 North in Mill Valley, take the Highway 1 exit. Turn right into the parking lot with the two blue roofed buildings. Drive through the parking lots and park under the bridge.

Note
Should you want to make this ride a little shorter and not ride on the road as a warm up, there is parking where the dirt trail starts. Warning: This parking lot is quite full on the weekends. Should you want to go there, go under the bridge, past the first light, and turn left about a ¼ mile past the light on Tennessee Valley Road. Drive to the end and park.

The trailhead is where the water fountain and the bench site beside the bike path on the west side of the bridge.
