Bolinas Ridge Loop
turn-by-turn mileage log
Mile 0.0 - The ride starts at the little ranger kiosk near the park entrance. Go straight down the paved road.
Mile 0.19 - Turn left on the road towards the silver gate.
Mile 0.28 - Go past the silver gate onto the dirt bike trail, which is basically a fireroad. The creek runs along the left.
Mile 0.81 - Cross bridge that spans Sir Francis Drake.
Mile 0.93 - Turn right on the fireroad towards Sir Francis Drake.
Mile 0.96 - Turn left on Sir Francis Drake.
Mile 2.30 - Turn right onto the road right before Shafter Bridge, go around the green gate, and ride through the parking area for Leo T. Cronin Fish Viewing Area and start up the fireroad. The climbing begins.
Mile 2.51 - Go right up the steep, paved road at the Y.
Mile 2.73 - A large, flat, open area appears on the right, The trail continues on the left. It comes to a Y. Take the trail on the toward Bolinas Ridge. The trail starts to get a lot steeper now and will continue to the ridge.
Mile 4.10 - Turn right on Bolinas Ridge Fireroad. The long, slow downhill begins. A lot of coasting to be done. There are a lot of gates that you must now pass through because of the grazing cows.
Mile 9.34 - Turn right on Sir Francis Drake and have fun with the downhill.
Mile 10.01 - Right before the bridge, turn right on the trail that leads to the Bike Path. Merge with the paved Bike Path and continue straight. After a few miles, a lot of roads and trails appear on the sides of the Bike Path. Continue straight on the Bike Path.
Mile 13.30 - Follow the curve of the road curves around to the left.
Mile 13.50 - End of the ride back at the kiosk.
