Distance: 7.45 Miles
Elevation Gain/Loss: 2000 ft.
Difficulty: Strenuous
Riding Time: 1¼ - 1¾ Hours
Directions

The Big Rock - Big Cat Loop is not for the faint of heart. It is both a steep uphill and descent. This is a ride that will make you sweat, no matter what season it is. It is a real workout. Although this loop does not include the highest points in Marin County, beautiful views are aplenty. This ride goes through Pacheco Valle, Loma Verde, Ignacio Valley and Marinwood Open Space Preserves.

Directions
Coming from San Francisco, take the first Novato exit called Nave Drive. Go under the freeway and loop back over the freeway heading East. At the stop sign (look straight ahead and you will see the gate you will have to go around to start the ride), find a place to park (a SamTrans bus parking area and Burger King are on the right.

Comments
This is a hard ride because of the climb. If you do not have your climbing legs, this is not the ride for you. The first 50 minutes or so of this ride, there is very little downhill and you rarely pop out of first gear, because of steepness of the climb. This is a workout ride.
