Bald Mountain Loop
turn-by-turn mileage log


Mile 0.0 - Start up Stern Trail. It starts off a little steep and then levels out.
Mile 0.51 - Turn right on Bald Mountain Trail. Continue climbing.
Mile 0.56 - Trail becomes paved. Go around green gate and continue climbing as the angle of ascent increases greatly.
Mile 2.47 - At the Y, turn right onto the fireroad (dirt) and continue climbing Bald Mountain Trail.
Mile 2.98 - At the Y, and near the top of the mountain, turn left and start descending on High Ridge Trail. NOTE: If you go right, the ride is practically all downhill from here. If you do go left and downhill here, you will have to climb the 600 feet back out again.
Mile 4.25 - Old red barn and remains of house appear on the left.
Mile 4.45 - Old gate across the road. Private Property. Turn around and climb back out.
Mile 6.00 - At the Y, turn left on Gray Pine Trail. Just a little more climbing to go.
Mile 6.04 - At the T, turn right and climb the short distance to the peak.
Mile 6.06 - Bald Mountain Peak at 2729 feet in elevation. Turn around and start down the mountain on Gray Pine Trail.
Mile 8.71 - At the T, turn right on Meadow Trail.
Mile 9.48 - Go around green gate onto the paved road.
Mile 9.61 - Go around green gate and go past the Sonoma Cattle Company Trail Rides buildings. Mile 10.04 - End of ride.
