Monterey Beaches
Santa Cruz | Capitola City | Monterey
When you think of the Monterey Bay, think "Beach Towns." Sure, places up north like Stinson count as "beach towns," but Santa Cruz and the towns south are QUINTESSENTIAL beach towns.
To the locals on the Monterey Bay, the beaches are life-blood. Just about all the communities along the wide, arcing shore have their economies tied to the tourism drawn by the beaches. And within the population, there exists a huge percentage of beople bent on living the Beach Life -- work a odd job, and surf when you're not working. Repeat daily until spirit is fulfilled.
Of course, this means touristy beaches. But it also means that for all the other beachgoers you find, you'll find as many locals who will bend over backwards to make sure you have a good time. Plenty to do. Good food, and all the plush luxuries you could want.
